"Renaud is my favourite French singer, and I'm French, so I know what I'm talking about !!
Renaud started his career in 1976 and has been popular in France ever since. The music of his songs are excellent, but the best is the lyrics. Renaud sings about what's wrong in France ("Hexagone"), about average-French people ("Dans mon HLM), but also about love ("La pêche à la ligne", "Mistral gagnant"). He criticizes Margaret Thatcher ("Miss Maggie") or writes funny songs such as "Laisse béton", "Marche à l'ombre". Anyway, whatever he writes sounds very good for he sings with a slight former Parisian accent and writes very well : slang, funny expressions mixed with tender words. You cannot but LOVE this CD !!"
