"Yes, of all the fine singer & song-writers emerging out of the late 70's and the 80's, Renato Russo, of the Brazilian band Legiao Urbana, is the greatest; he produced various of the most beautiful, haunting and complex records of all times - works of sheer sincerity, with a timeless aura of pure genius. When he is with his band, he sings only his own songs, in Portuguese. But he has made three solo albuns, in which he sings in other languages. The first one was all in English, and he just selected some of his favorite songs in English, from Nick Drake to Bob Dylan. His second solo albun, called Equilibrio Distante, is in Italian."

"Renato Russo is a lengend in the brazilian pop culture. In the early 80's until mid '90s (with Legião Urbana) he created a new stlyle in national rock'n'roll, that until today influence a lot of people in brazil. In this particulary album Stonewall Celebration Concert (Sounds like its a live CD, but it isn't) he exposes himself as a great interpret of famous american songs like: Cherish and Paper of pins (An american Foclore song). One interesting thing about this cd is the title. Stonewall remarks the "birthplace" of the Gay pride concience, and as himself beeing a homosexual he chose all songs that reflected a homo feeling on him. Congratulations MAN. Great CD. Unfortunatly he died some years later of Aids complications(Oct. 31 '96). In dispeite of all that I rope you people buy this Album and enjoy as much as I did."
