"1978's "A Song For All Seasons" is another beautiful treasure from Renaissance. As usual with Annie Haslam, Michael Dunford and company, the songs, arrangements, performances and production on display here are simply gorgeous. "Opening Out," "Day Of The Dreamer," the British hit single "Northern Lights", and the title song....simply outstanding classical/folk/rock that touches your very soul. Great producing job too by David Hentschel, who, not surprisingly, also produced Genesis during this period (which may also explain why the instrumental bridge in "Day Of The Dreamer" sounds so uncannily like Genesis---though I'm certainly not complaining!). As you can tell, I love this band. "A Song For All Seasons" is a wonderful Renaissance album."

Bringing Back Musical Memories...Still a Song for All Season

"It's funny how thirty years or so can go by and suddenly you remember a song. It sticks in your head long enough to make you curious as to where you heard it and why you liked it so much! Well, curiosity pays, I found the album I'd cherished long ago on an 8-track tape, if I recall correctly. One of the better albums of the 70's. Haunting thematic intros, playful and carefully crafted bass lines that make you want to listen over and over again. If you're getting on in age, you're going to love the 70's rock feel and if you're much younger, even a teen...you'll appreciate the music on this particular album. You won't be disappointed and you'll probably want to get other Renaissance albums as well."

Different But Good

"I actually did not like it on the first listen. But fell in love by second and third pass.



This is much different than "Ashes are Burning" or "Novella". I think it compares to Moody Blues "Days of Future Past" in how orchestra interacts with band.



The band sounds Andree Llyod Weber like and there are other voices besides Annie.



Popish and mellow but still prog is over tenor.



You like other Renaissance, you'll like this."
