"I waited about 15 years for my favorite band to reunite. This is a great live recording of their new and old work. This may be the best version of Ashes are Burning yet. If you're a Renaissance fan you'll love it. If you never heard of them, give their classical meets rock sound a try. Annie can definately still hit all the high notes. They're as good as ever, which is awesome."
This would be more like Annie Haslam Live in Japan

"One thing that all you true Renaissance fans should make note of....this is only a PARTIAL reunion of the band.
Annie Haslam : vocals
Michael Dunford : acoustic guitars, vocals
Terence Sullivan : drums, percussion
Missing is
John Tout : Keyboards extraordinaire (he made the Band sound like a symphony and appeared on the first 9 albums)
Jon Camp : Bass and vocals..He appeared on the first 11 albums and sang lead on several songs.
Altho the songs are competantly performed....the bass and keys were an integral part of the Renaissance sound....and that's the part that any TRUE fan will immediately notice is missing....Close but no cigar.
Altho I am a longtime Renaissance fan....without the inclusion of John Tout and Jon Camp...this cannot be considered a TRUE reunion tour..or album
Am sorry....but 3/5th of a great band isn't a reunion.
"
Unbelievable - this band is still great!!

"After almost 30 years these guys still have not lost their sound. The voice, Annie Haslam, is as strong as ever. Man I could listen to her forever and never get tired of that incredible range of hers. She has, if possible, gotten better with age. Her voice seems more mature and finely tuned than when I first heard her back in the mid 70's.
If you are a Renaissance fan this is a must have. Even if you have every single one of their albums/CD's - get this one. You will not be sorry."
As close as most people can get to a live Renaissance perfor

"When Renaissnace reunited in 2001, it was the 1st time in almost 20 years that they performed together and live. 3 out of 5 original members appear here so I guess that's about average for a band coming off a 2 decade break. For whatever reason, they chose to appear in Japan and nowhere else and this 2 CD set is the document of that event.
The set contains songs both old and new and even slips in a solo Annie song (Moonlight Shadow). As always, the highlight is the finale "Ashes Are Burning" and this version does not dissappoint. Veteran fans of the band will certainly enjoy this long awaited set."
