"The Reivers were an Austin, Texas band that released four LPs from the mid 80's to early 90's. End of the Day is their 3rd and most confident. Their first two albums were drenched in echo, while the production here is meatier. Kim Longacre is one of those "lost" singers that never got her due. The interplay between her and John Croslin is fantastic throughout. They even revamp "Lazy Afternoon" into an invigorating rocker.
I was fortunate to see this band twice and have never experienced so much positive energy coming off a stage. Maybe it was the great harmonies or jangly chords, but everyone left feeling great. Too bad more people weren't able to experience it.
All four of their albums are (somewhat) available and highly recommended."

"For years Reivers fans have had to scour used CD shops in hopes of find this "Holy Grail" of an album by the Reivers. Now, by the good graces of Capitol Records, End of the Day is back on the shelf! The Reivers generated only a few albums, but they're all outstanding by any standards. The music is timeless, the sounds divine, and the songwriting simply brilliant. Though unknown by most, The Reivers influenced some heavy hitters, including Hootie and the Blowfish, who recorded a cover of "Almost Home," one of the highlight tracks on End of the Day. The band has a clean, sophisticated sound that outshined other 80s bands, but sadly they never got the airplay. End of the Day is a hidden treasure, a gem, a stellar album. This reissue sounds better than the original release--thank God for reissues!"

"Please just listen. No distractions. Put the headphones on or send the kids to bed early. The harmonies are fantastic. Make my heart melt. I can rember the laziest summer time family gathering in the hot humid haze. How many of you have actually talked into a fan? I did. Where is this band? I can't say enough to wish you would listen to this group."
They deserved so much more

"With popular music little more than an overproduced, homogenized mess these days, it's even more heartbreaking to realize that a band with such great hooks, harmonies, and songwriting never got its due. The Reivers had it & delivered -- jangly melodies, evocative lyrics, and the ability to tell stories & evoke landscapes of memories with seeming ease. There's a warmth to their music, a homespun flavor that reminds the listener of old times, old friends, lost dreams & treasured moments. Criminally overlooked in their own brief lifetime, they're deserving of rediscovery by anyone interested in quality songwriting by a superb band. This one can be played over & over without ever growing tired or old. While I consider this their single finest album, all four are well worth getting. Most highly recommended!"
