Great recording I didn't know existed

"I had an LP of Red White and Blue(grass) Pickin' Up, one of my all-time favorite recordings. While looking for a CD of that record (I had converted the LP to CD about ten years ago, but wanted original studio CD for better sound), and I found the had recorded a second album! I scooped it up as quickly as I could.

As good as Pickin' Up, the addition of a string section in some of the pieces doesn't detract from the "bluegrass-y" nature of the album. I think my favorite piece is Whittlin', a full-bore, high-speed instrumental as good as anything they've done, and one of my favorite bluegrass pieces ever (but only 1:40 long.)"
