"Red Monkey harken back to the post-punk halcyon days of the early 80's, when Gang of Four and Au Pairs thrilled us with their rhythmic aggression and political agitprop. Throw in a penchant for odd times a la Slint and you begin to understand Red Monkey. One of the best albums of 1999. Highly recommeded."

"picking up where huggy bear seemingly left off, these bold sonic revelations of anger & distrust emit fractures & beautiful anti-slogans for the otherworldly generation (for which U & I can never belong) get this or never be they truly do"
This is what punk rock was intended to be.

"This album, and the previous one, are fierce and energetic. The bass and guitarist, who exchange vocal duties, play off of each other masterfully and the result is an exciting and emotionally raw array of songs. They range from personal, such as "in her own write," to the political leanings of songs discussing abortion rights, nazism, and environmental issues. All the while, their forum is pure brit punk. This trio is amazing live and I am glad I got the chance to see them perform."
