Synopsis

Album Description
An original work by violinist/composer Rebecca Ramsey, this peaceful music features Ms. Ramsey as solo violinist and conductor, with woodwinds, guitar, harp, jazz piano, world percussion, and a chamber orchestra of strings. It was inspired by the grandeur of one of our nation's treasures- Zion National Park in Utah. Dr. Paul Leon Masters, founder of the University of Metaphysics International, describes it as "music that causes the soul to flow into higher realms of beingness and Spirit-a perfect prelude to practicing meditation."

CD Reviews

"album of peaceful awakenings for mankind ~ Rebecca Ramsey"
J. Lovins | Missouri-USA | 05/23/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Inspiring violinist/composer Rebecca Ramsey sets the mood to visit Zion National Park in Utah with "The Stone Sanctuary, Silhouettes of Zion", this national treasure brings people and nature closer together. What better way than through music to express the spirit of suites and preludes within the realm of meditation and relaxation. Composing original works, Ramsey produced, soloed on the violin and conducted the Glenwillow Orchestra ~ with blends of classical and jazz interwoven very nicely into a musical fabric. The opening selection "BEFORE THE DAWN", has shades of composer John Barry sprinkled with melodic traces of "Somewhere In Time", one of my favorite film scores. Ramsey has captured the essence with her flowing way of composing, much like Mr. Barry. Another highlight pick is the last track "THE RIVER VIRGIN", has moving counterparts that leave you wanting more, reminds me of "How Green Was My Valley" and "The Quiet Man", both classic films from director John Ford. The album awakens a spirit of caring for your fellowman and helping others less fortunate.Total Time: 47:48 on 9 Tracks ~ rebeccaramsey ~ (2000/2001)"
