Why RBX? Why didnt you bring the skills you have?
Rogelio Castro III | Milwaukee, WI | 01/28/2004
(2 out of 5 stars)

"RBX is one of my favorite rappers, he has a dark, sinister style. Instead of dropping a unique, straight hip hop album(which is what I was expecting). He decided to make a g-funk album co-starring his whole muthaf@$#ing family. This is more of a compilation because RBX only does a small handfull of songs solo, and predictably, those ones are basicly the best tracks with the exception of the snoop and daz collabos. So RBX I ask you, why would you try to make an album featuring mostly talentless artists on your record label, when you could have done a REAL DOPE solo album (how do I miss Heatmizer) and package a compilation of your artists with the album? I could not be more disappointed. I would rather spend my 11.99 on anything but this cd, Sorry X, you wasted your talent on this album, dont be mad at me."

"RBX's (Reality Born Unknown) third album is "Ripp Tha Game Bloody: Street Muzic" (2004). I first heard RBX on Dr. Dre's Chronic and later on RBX's cousin Snoop Doggs "Doggystyle", both classic albums. Over the years I have come across him on a rare guest spot or two but never took the time to check out either of his previous full length albums. RBX starts his album off by talking about Hip Hops exploitation and phony MC's on the intro, then drops the grimey "Foul Mood" a memorable hardcore cut. Alot of early tracks dont standout for me, there not bad just not memorable. Later cuts do standout though some of these include the thugged out "Crime", the fastpaced catchy "RBX" and "Somebody Else" a Westcoast blazing banger. Theres no escape on "They Run" another good track which is laced with a sad sounding beat. RBX gets rough on "Rock Head" a metal based track. Most people will probably never come across this release, "Ripp Tha Game Bloody: Street Muzic" has its ups and downs, I recommend this one to loyal RBX fans and suggest others listen to it first before copping it. RBX has one of those distinct flows people either like or hate."
