"It would be impossible to over-rate this CD by Ray O. Closer to six stars than five. End-to-end, wall-to-wall sensational, every cut: writing, playing and execution. BTW, Don't bother to sit down after you put this CD in the player...!"
Outstanding jazz with an authentic south-of-the border flair

"Ray Obiedo has impressed before, but really outdoes himself with this fine work. The arrangements and musicianship are lively and implacable. The music line follows that wonderful South American sound, but Ray is not afraid to divert onto some really way-out jazz story-lines when the mood seems right. Of particular note on this album is "Braziliero", which moves along at a really nice pace. You will find yourself moving arms, legs, fingers and perhaps, some body parts you didn't know you had, especially when one of Rays musicians takes off on the steel pans...what a ride! A terrific album, especially if you love that S.A. influence as I do! Just ever-so slightly reminiscent of our beloved Sergio Mendez only jazzier. But don't be the "fool on the hill"; give this-un an ear, or two!"

"Great combination of Latin and R&B Jazz. It's a shame this great CD is not well known in the jazz community. The first tune Real Life just totally blew me away. I've been playing this CD non-stop since it came out. 10 STARS!"
