"The Rashied Ali Quintet has departed its usual 'free jazz' territory to serve-up some of the most exciting hard bop music that I've heard in years. The drummer is surrounded by an exceptional ensemble with brilliant solos supplied by Lawrence Clark on tenor and Jummaane Smith, trumpet. The surge of the music and the creativity of the solos reminds me of some of the best offerings that came from the famous Art Blakey's star-studded line-ups.
A great album and highly recommended.
