"Mark my words folks. Rascal Flatts is going to take the industry by storm. Their single "prayin for daylight" is just the tip of the iceberg for this album. The cd cranks out several songs, that I believe will be top 5 hits once they are released, one right after the other. It includes upbeat harmonizing in songs like prayin for daylight and This everyday love, as well as beautiful ballets in While you loved me, See me through, It's not just me, and Waiting all my life. "Some say" and "Long slow beautiful dance" are also cool tunes. The group combines country with a little pop influence to their sound and the versitile voice of lead singer Gary Levox and tremendous background harmonizing by Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney highlight the album. Great all around debut effort by rascal. No doubt that these guys are going to sell a lot of albums."
Rascal Flatts are the latest in country music.

"I've been "Waiting All My Life" for a CD this good. "Some Say" that this CD is too pop, that it isn't country att all. I say to them: "Get real!" Rascal Flatts is cool, they're "in", and they'll make you believe in good music. There are the beutiful ballads--"It's Not Just Me", "See Me Through" (my favorite!) and "While You Loved Me." Then you get the good foot-tapping songs--"Praying For Daylight", "Some Say", "Waiting All My Life", and "This Everyday Love." At to that the other songs and "I'm Movin' On"--the sadest song ever--and you've got a great album. Buy it today!"
Odd Mixture, but a Good Freshman Effort

"I normally don't buy a CD off the strength of the first single I hear; so after I heard "Prayin' for Daylight," I waited to see what else would come from Rascal Flatts. "Everyday Love" didn't blow me away like "Prayin'" (which I absolutely love), but I thought it established a solid pattern of songs I could listen to without feeling I had wasted my money. The first time I heard the CD all the way through, I was disappointed, because after "Everyday Love," there didn't seem to be much substance, and I couldn't distinguish the songs very much. But after repeated listenings, I began to really like the songs. I'm still not a big fan of sugary, poppish love songs, but Gary Levox (lead singer) has one of the best voices I've heard in a long time. He has this twang that just pleads. It's odd that he and his bandmates are singing mostly pop songs with that awesome twangy voice of his. Jay's and Joe Don's harmonies are beautiful and very tight. I just wish they had much better material to work with. I'm not against country pop, but Gary's voice could really shine on some more traditional songs. My all-time favorite on the CD is "Prayin' . . .", but "I'm Movin' On," and "It's Not Just Me" (co-written by Jay DeMarcus) are very close favorites. One last note. This refers more to the videos than to the songs. I like that the videos for "Prayin'" and "Everyday Love," though they are love songs, don't feature half-naked women and other visual ploys to get viewers' attention. Some country videos have gone that route, and it kinda ruins the songs for me. I'm sure eventually the videos for RF will go that way, too; but until then I just want to express my appreciation for tasteful, fun videos. Just my .02."
Sure they're cute...

"But they also have the voices to back it up! I admit I was not a fan, but when I saw them live (opening for Jo Dee Messina), my view of them changed. They really knew how to work the crowd and actually sounded GOOD live. You know how you hear some songs and then when you see the artist live it's just not the same. These guys are good! I found myself singing along to "Everyday Love" and "Prayin' for Daylight" and even "From Time to Time". I bought the CD and am glad I did. Songs like "See Me Through", "Waiting All My Life", and "From Time To Time" have made me a fan. They are smooth, not really traditional country, but then again, few are anymore. Rascal Flatts said something at their show I thought was very true. They said 'People have been calling us a boy band, but that is not true...We play instruments!' Multi-talented, funny, and cute! These guys will go far!"
