Levinson | Media, PA USA | 01/12/2003 (4 out of 5 stars) "Randy's 1986 album, In The Idiom, was a successful return to straightahead acoustic jazz after years of electric jazz-funk with the Brecker Brothers. He performs eight of his compositions with a great band. Though none of these tunes will likely become standards, they have interesting themes and arrangements and provide fine vehicles for the participants to display their talents.
