"This is a very listenable collection. What I like about Thompson is his combination of listenable melodies and interesting and unique harmonies. As a person with a music degree, I appreciate his harmonic language. My personal favorite is the Third Symphony. The performance is quite good. I would have to knock it a bit by saying the horn sound has quite an edge to it. Who knows, maybe it is a New Zealand thing (this is the first recording I have heard by them)."
