"will listen to this over and over again...verses are deep...especially "dedicated"...damn that one was like a sucker punch to the gut...the content on that track is deep....alot of people have been bashing the fact that he got a lot of unknown producers on this one.....listen, if the crap thats getting put on the air waves today is what it takes to get noticed..then i'm glad rakim went the route he went...no cussin..no disrespecting our women and no bs about who ran up on who in the hood and put a cap in thier ass will be found on this album..know why...becasue he doesnt need to put out that kind of "ear candy" that todays genration is being force fed.
This is the kind of music hip hop should have evolved itself to and I hope that other artists take heed to this and follow his road to evolution for all our sake so that the airwaves can once agian be the meduim for real music and not the meaningless ear candy we hear today
Thank you Rakim for maintianing and keeping the true meaning of hip hop true to what it should be.
This is an album I will be buyng for my daughter and nephews and nieces so that they can apperictate what real music is
peace

A more evolved effort from Rakim

"As I've read the other reviews I laughed...a lot of folks complained about his production on The 18th Letter and The Master... also yet now they are godly albums compared to this one? people are never happy Rakim dropped a quality album does it sound different then his old work? of course it does he has had a decade since his last album its gonna be different its a given...I heard a lot of complaints about the song Dedicated so what it has a No Doubt hook, it fits the premise of the song. People have forgotten that Hip Hop has sampled tracks since its birth...what is different about this? its a soft rock song? people are bias needlessly and can't embrace a heartfelt song...all in all this album is different then his old attempts but its enjoyable none the less...it took me a few listens to really get into it though...its that much different but worth the 5 stars"
