CD Reviews

What were they thinking?

"There are some interesting pieces of music in this movie that I was very interested in. Unfortunately, the producers failed to include the most interesting and beautiful piece of music from the whole film on this soundtrack which of course was the violin piece used in the ending credits. One of the most haunting and enchanting violin pieces I've ever heard. Shame and shameful that they didn't as that instrumental alone made this soundtrack worth buying and without it, well, it isn't. Maybe they are planning on including it in a movie score release? One can only hope, though it would seem more appropriate included here."
They left out the only track I would have bought this for

"It took me two viewings of "Rachel Getting Married" to decide whether I liked the soundtrack, and on the second viewing I got to like parts of it very much. But by far the most beautiful piece was the long violin piece played during the final credits. And it's not on the soundtrack! That's insane. Now I will have to go research it to see if I can find it somewhere else."
Good but missing some good key songs

"I just wish Tenor Saw's 'Golden Hen' and Allen Toussaint's 'Mother in Law' were included. 'Mother in Law' is heard near end and througout I think and 'Golden Hen' the DJ drops right after the short snippet of the 'Ninth Ward Blues' and before the 'In My Soul' and it plays for a long time and I love reggae so I was sad to see that one not make it in addtion to the Sister Carol East song."
