"Rachael Sage's seventh release is her best yet. From the playful opening track, "Alright, OK" to the plaintive closing ballad "Calypso", The Blistering Sun is a collection of consistently moving tunes. In a just world "Featherwoman" would be an international hit, and "Violet or Blue" would be all over the R&B airwaves. But this album is worthwhile for "93 Maidens" alone: a thought-provoking retelling of the story of a young girl who chose suicide rather than submit to her Nazi captors. Highly recommended if you like the more lucid works of Tori Amos, if you pine for Laura Nyro's glory days, or if you just plain like good, intelligent piano-based music with offbeat instrumentation."
Brilliant and Beautiful!!!

"The Blistering Sun is a dazzling piece of art and musicianship. Each song is a finely woven story - intricate, beautiful, and detailed. If you like Tori Amos, Marc Cohen, Ani DiFranco, Carole King, or any of the real deal story teller songwriters - you will go crazy for Rachael's music. Each Rachael Sage release is a gift - a novel of entrenched beauty. The song "93 Maidens" on "The Blistering Sun" is a classic - a holocaust tale so heart wrenching it will haunt your dreams (or your ipod) for months... a mix tape must."
A great CD

"I discovered Rachel Sage just recently and already purchased most of her CDs. This is my favorite so far. Rachel has a beautiful voice and the songs lyrics are wonderful. I absolutely love this CD."
Magic and then some.

"Anyone who has seen Rachael cannot help but be overwhelmed by her showmanship, improvisation, and love for her craft. It is rare to find such an excellent combination of magic and thougtfulness on stage. Rachel is fun to watch and sings as much to you as to herself. Her lastest collection technically stacks up against any contemporary singer and stands out for its originality and creativity. My nine-year old daughter loves Rachel's music and cannot wait to ser her again in concert. Don't pass up the opportunity to savor something really special with this release. Fans of Tori Amos and Natalie Merchant will enjoy this as something related, but completely original."
