A fantastic album from a great band

"It is lazy to compare quickspace to stereolab. It's also incorrect. I really like a lot of Stereolab's material, but by and large, they are imitators (Neu, anyone?), whereas Quickspace actually bring their own idiosyncracies and originality to this album, and a lot of their other material. This is probably their most consistent album. Particular highlights for me include quasi-pfaff, song for someone and (on the US version only) the original single version of friend. If you like this stuff, hunt down the Superplus EP, as it's still their most determined and original piece. For me, one of the few bands around able to take the so called 'Krautrock' sound and twist it into a new shape.
I recommend any other Quickspace album, as they are all great.
Also, check out 'Th' Faith Healers', Tom Cullihan's earlier band. If you like this, you'll find a lot to like there, also. Most of their albums are available here and there, as their Too Pure releases were more popular in the US than Quickspace, to date (or so it seems to me)."

"super sounding low-fi extravaganza - old stereolab at its best."
