CD ReviewsFun... but there are a few kinks here... Beau | St. Louis, MO USA | 11/15/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "Always on the lookout for rare CD's, i happened across "druid" by QD here on amazon. "it must be rare indeed", i thought, as the shipping time was 1-3 WEEKS. Thus i purchased it, and in time it did arrive.
The result was a tad mixed. The best way i can think of to describe the sound is "fun"- for, um... house music, i suppose? it lacked any of the epic strings or deep, echoed beats so characteristic of trance and house masters as Tiesto, Sasha, Oakenfold, etc. It had more catchy, playful beats. Nothing too loud, nothing too serious. There are also several Drum n Bass songs on this album (i suppose characteristic of british dance). Then there were a few songs that, put simply, just didn't belong on here. One such was the hidden track "the dream of you" (sorry to spoil it for y'all...). It was simply not so good. So, if you want a fun, playful dance CD (and are willing to press the "skip" button once or twice) i'd say go for it. But as a lover of epic trance, i have to admit this can't really compare so much." |
