"Puja Thompson's "Roots and Wings" is the perfect vehicle by which we can nuture and heal our inner beings. Her meditation CD and workbook combination provides a unique scaffolding for transformation and growth to take place.
With a background of soothing music by Richard Shulman, the CD begins with the roots. Thomson takes you back to your ancestry and gently allows you to view what background family values and stories are a part of your foundation for living. By doing so, you may reinforce what is positive and let go of what is no longer serving you. Like the way the earth nourishes the roots of a tree, Thomson invites you to tap into the nourishment of the universe, and allow it to help you grow.
After peacefully cleansing your past, the imagery of the wings can help you imagine your utmost potential, your wildest dreams, and visualize actually "birthing" them. Thomson asks you to look within and see what hopes, dreams, and wishes, are lying dormant in you, and encourages you to take those first steps toward transformation.
You can use the CD and workbook as little or as much as needed. The CD has parts you may want to play in isolation as part of a meditation routine, or it works beautifully in its entirety. The workbook helps you articulate and elaborate on some of the feelings that may need to be unearthed from our troubled minds and souls. I find this guided imagery meditation to be one of my absolute favorites. It is peaceful and encouraging, and lays the necessary nurturing groundwork for true transformation.
