"Here is yet another stellar performance by the unmached King's Choir! The cd explores different kinds of Psalms. Some are "happy, sad, or even violent!" But they all add to an important herritage of Anlgican chant.
Each selection is clear; the organ balances beautifuly with the voices, which are never too shrill. The accoustics in the Chapel add to the magic of the album. I suggest purchasing Volumes I, II, and III. They are all great for navigating rush hour traffic, personal time for devotion, or even , as I do, putting the CD on repeet at bed time: a practice I will probably one day have to sacrifice upon my marriage!
My only complaint is the brevity of the cd. Why could they not have given us at least two more Psalms? I wish I could compell King's to record the entire Psalter.
Hence, I must strongly recommend the Psalms of David by St. Pauls Cathedral Choir. The sound is not as intimate as King's, due to the size of the Great Cathedral, but is beautiful and moving nonetheless."
