Review:

From the opening notes to the end of the Cd, Vibrations is a real Jazz Rock treat.Intelligent compositions, passionate performances, flawless musicianship of the highest caliber, and

overall integrity are the keywords that best describe the music on this release by Prophetz of Time and Space.

The music has a quality of accessibility that is reminiscent of old school JazzRock, yet t he compositions keep the players from the classic "speed merchants" pitfall often associated with the genre. Vibrationz has deep powerful grooves and tasty licks that give the listener a lot to appreciate. In addition,

odd time signatures, big fat funky bass lines, musical twists and turns, and great solos, all combine for an exceptional Jazz Rock experience.

This is NOT typical hard edged and loud Jazz Rock musical calisthenics played at blistering speeds. Instead,

the music has a strong melodic content and a liberal dose of musical class. Yep, adult! Certainly not Smooth Jazz by a long way, but cleverly cool enough to be appreciated by a wide range of musical tastes. It's mellow AND it cooks, to put it another way.

Those of us old enough to remember the amazing Jerry Goodman from the original Mahavishnu Orchestra will be extremely pleased with his sound and presence throughout the recording. In fact, the whole project has a little "On the Future of Aviation" flavor to it.

Overall, this is a great recording and a nice change of pace for Jazz Rock fans that don't need to get their ears blown off to enjoy good music.
