Nine years ago Professor RJ Ross was given only months to live. Diagnosed with a rare form of Stage-IV cancer he was thrust into a five-year battle that he describes as 'a roller-coaster ride of heartbreaking joy and dark despair.' Now, cancer free and with a clean bill of health, Ross steps into the spotlight with the release of his debut solo album, Face To Face. Featuring six standards and eight originals, this album of smooth vocal jazz and classic R&B features Ross's highly original take on America's 1972 hit song 'Ventura Highway,' as well as very unique readings of jazz standard 'Autumn Leaves,' the Beatles' 'Drive My Car' and Gershwin classic 'Summertime.' The Professor's songwriting skills are also highlighted in songs such as the self-empowering title track and the politically charged 'When We've Had Enough.'
