"Well, not really "lost", inasmuch as Los Prisioneros were the hugest rock band in Chile throughout the 80's. But if you're a humble gringo like me, they will come as a major revelation. The first time I heard this album, it was eerie-- I didn't know any of the songs, and yet they were so catchy and vibrant that I felt as though I was listening to classics that I knew by heart. Los Prisioneros started out their career as a ska/rock band, mirroring the sounds of 1979, but as the 80's progressed they moved towards an electro-pop sound. Throughout, their songwriting stayed potent, with lyrics ranging from clever criticism of sexual advertisements to tongue-in-cheek declarations of rock intent. ("Elvis, sacudete en tu cripta.") Best described as a glorious mixture of The Police, The Clash and Erasure, this is a greatest hits collection I cannot recommend highly enough.

"This is a excellent CD. It contains the best songs of this Chilean group ( "The prisioners" in english). If you understand spanish, good for you! if you dont, this CD may motivate you to get a good dictionary! :) The lirics , especially the ones of the old songs are full of social claims that came naturally to opressed teenagers living in a dictatorship!.The lyrics of their songs are not limited to the political aspect of living in repression but they include the social vision of censured people too. You need to get it !"
