With an impressive roster from the country-music spectrum, the Nashville CD of music inspired by Prince of Egypt works as a compilation itself, if not as a compendium of the film. Fortunately, with a couple of exceptions, ... more »the producers steered away from "country pop" acts and concentrated on vocal talents like Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, and Wynonna. Wynonna's "Freedom" is a pleasant gospel workout, and Krauss's folky "I Give You to His Heart" is perhaps the compilation's best track, though Charlie Daniels's "Could It Be Me" is an upbeat frolic that actually has more of a feel for the film than any other track on the disc. "Make It Through" is a nicely written song, but Randy Travis isn't the man to sing it--his slow vocals seem outmatched by the upbeat song, and there isn't much flow. A handful of the tracks are overly sentimental, but, for the most part, this is a pleasant listen. --Aaron Tassano« less

"I can't believe that none of these songs were ever on the radio. Now I am a young African-American woman, the first time I heard this cd I fell in love with country music. I would recommend anyone to buy this cd."
The songs are terrific

"I had an opportunity to purchase this CD while on vacation in Nashville, and it's fabulous. I listen to it over and over and never tire of it. Since I didn't see the movie, I don't know how this collection stacks up to the original sound track, but it really doesn't matter -- I like pop/country and all the songs are great and well performed!"
I can't believe it didn't get more play

"This is a wonderful CD. I bought two - one for the house and one for the car. I can't believe it didn't get more play on the radio. The music is a fabulous collection of country artists singing inspirational songs inspired by the movie, The Prince of Egypt. I like it much better than the actual movie tracks - many of the songs could have been used in the movie. If you like country and you like the movie, you need this CD."
Great uplifting and inspiring music...

"For anyone on a journey of self-discovery or simply looking for heartwarming and inspirational music, I highly recommend this C.D. My favourite tracks are, "Freedom" by Wynonna, "I Give You To His Heart" by Alison Krauss and "Somewhere Down This road" by Faith Hill. Listen to this C.D., relax and renew your faith! Thanks."
A wonderful collaberation of Country artists...

"From the upbeat tune of "Walk In Glory" by Mindy McCready to the slow, touching song "I Will Be There For You" by Jessica Andrews, this album is truly a success, combining the blow-you-away voices of today's Country artists. Definitely a five-star CD in my eyes."
