Hitomi Yaida (also known affectionately as Yaiko), is an alternative Japanese music artist whose unique style and amazing music has earned her immense popularity both in and out of Japan. Yaiko premiered on the indies scene in 2000, and by the end of that same year she had already been signed to a major record label (Toshiba EMI), released two singles and a full album, and established a high profile name for herself on the mainstream music scene.
