Synopsis

Album Description
2009 release from the veteran Heavy Metal band including a bonus video clip of 'Turn The Tide'. Sanctuary was recorded in Atlanta under the direction of producer/engineer Andy Reilly (Asia, The Cult, Bruce Dickinson, FM). The mix of lead and harmony guitar breaks and solos with great vocals and keyboards is fantastic with an overall songwriting on the highest level. What we have here is a band that features some very fine and experienced musicians who have put together a collection of songs that creates a really classic album. Praying Mantis started back in 1977 when Spanish-Greek brothers Tino and Chris Troy, founded the band and recorded a demo which received great acclaim in the British Heavy Metal scene. Since then, they've gone through numerous personnel changes and the occasional hiatus, but have always returned stronger than ever.

CD Reviews

This should be huge...
Ashley Brownlow | West Texas | 01/25/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"...but, once again, Praying Mantis don't get the respect that they deserve.

This album is a well rounded slice of melodic rock, with harmonies to die for (think Iron Maiden meets CSN&Y. The song writing is superb; the kind of songs that overlay the heart and emotions into which one can project ones own identity onto. It is also one of those albums that has a sense of being complete; where every track fits together to form an inescapably beautiful, and compelling, whole.

Like their debut album "Time Tells No Lies", this is a must for any discerning rocker's collection. Mature rock that is not overblown, and does not insult the intelligence. These guys should be HUGE!"
