Synopsis

Album Details
Soon after Duran Duran's First Parting of the Ways, Members Went on to Form Two Splinter Groups: Arcadia and the Power Station. What was to Just Be a One-off Recording of "Bang a Gong" Turned Into a Full Fledged Album with the Involvement of Chic Members Tony Thompson and Bernard Edwards, John and Andy Taylor of Duran Duran and Singer Robert Palmer, who Put the Fire in the Entire Mix. The Debut Album by the Supergroup Zoomed to the Top of the Charts, Yet Palmer Deserted the Others to Continue Working on his Solo Career with an Awfully Big Boost Behind Him. This Edition of the Album Has Different Cover Art Than the Version Seen Generally around the World.

CD Reviews

Power Station Funk/Rock at its finest
S. Traversi | Santa Rosa, CA. | 04/20/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is a great album that still holds up today. It's hard to believe that 3 of the people involved with this recording are now dead. Drummer Tony Thompson, Singer Robert Palmer and Producer & Bassist Bernard Edwards. From start to finish there isn't a bad tune on this album. I gave it a 4 only because the CD doesn't sound as good as the vinyl does. Bernard supplied the funky bass parts in the middle section of Get It On (Bang A Gong), it's too bad he never received any credit. I would recomend this CD, but stay away from The Living In Fear CD, that one is all over the map with only a couple of good tunes."
