"This new piece by Glass, performed lushly by Levingston, is simply stunning. There's is enough of the conventional Glass "sound" in the piece to make any fan happy, however, this piece presents something new. Glass has connsistently experimented with new sounds in his symphonies, operas, piano work and film scores. In this piece, a refined beauty and innovation strikes you almost immediately. Truly wonderful.
What Further enhances the experiences are the other musical portraits on the disc. From the lovely serious playfulness of the Ravel, so the inventiveness of the Messiaen, to the somber richness from the father of Minimalism Erik Satie, Levingston plays it all with the touch of a master and the grace of an artist decicated to every note of this music. Fantastic."
