"This band oddly enough requested friendship on myspace one night and that's where this little obsession began. I absolutely Love Love Love this band!!! The new self title album dropped today and I don't think I can find a single bad thing to say. This is one of the most inventive, Kick a** Rock n' roll bands in the history of everness. This CD has it all...it's sexy, fun, down and gritty rock n' roll that you can jam out to with a friend or alone. It doesn't matter. Poets deliver songs that shake you down and lift you up all in one song. From the explosive guitar solos, to the hypnotic melodies, to the catchy lyrics, this CD will definitely take you on a ride. From the first note to the last, you won't be disappointed."

"These guys (and gal on bass) are the next hot new darlings of the rock'n'roll world! I've had their new CD for about a week and have been playing it to death. It's pure rock'n'roll to the max! Smart, insightful lyrics and catchy tunes. Check these guys out on their MySpace and on YouTube. They are SO, SOOOO easy to look at. An entire band of naturally gorgeous people...not the fakey LA type of beauty...REAL beauty. These guys are so down-to-earth and humble, they actually answer their fan emails PERSONALLY! I've never experienced anything like them before...and I'm from the boomer generation! Seriously, you don't want to miss the chance to listen to this band!

"In this cookie cutter world of all musicians trying to sound like Green Day or My Chemical Romance etc. Poets & Pornstars destroy all the cookie cutter bands with some in your face rock and roll. Now with all new bands one feels the need to compare them to someone...well if I have to I would say that these guys sound a bit like AC/DC (the bon scott years), a little like Jet, and even some Zeppelin thrown in. They bring back the classic rock sound but still keep it new. The song "Rock and Roll" comes out and lets you know these guys(oops and gal) are in it to stay and mean it. My favorite is the song "In The Dark" haunting/ sexy and smart.
The last time I heard an album this full of good music was Guns n Roses Appetite for Destruction. Before that was Led Zeppelin's "Zoso" album."
The next great rock band is here.

"I live in LA, so I'm fortunate to have seen Poets & Pornstars play live on Sunset Strip, where rock bands are a dime a dozen. THERE'S SOMETHING VERY MAGICAL ABOUT THIS BAND, and something is happening that I have NEVER seen here in the Land of the Uber Cool or Eternally Jaded: When Poets hit town, the venue packs out, and the "over-21" crowd not only screams, hollers, holds up fists and lighters, and surges to get closer... but get this: THEY ALL SING AND SHOUT ALONG. They know all the words. See, that just doesn't happen here. And the magic spills out onto the street after the show: the crowd doesn't leave. They hang around, sweaty and smiling, talking about how Poets are the next great rock band. When you see them, you get the feeling that you've discovered something really amazing and special, and you're "in" on it just before the rest of the world catches on. And that speaks volumes about how awesome and addicting their music is.
I can't stop listening to this CD. The more you play it, the more you love it. It's everything you want from a great rock album, and I personally think it's destined to become a classic. This band LOVES to play rock, and their love for the music comes shining through on the CD. It's hard to capture that kind of energy on a CD, but they've done it. The CD rocks out with an intelligent range of tunes and arrangements, so every song is interesting. In other words, I can't decide which is my favorite: it keeps changing. When was the last time you loved so many tunes on a CD, you couldn't pick your favorite?
You want pure rock? Check out "Rock and Roll", "Get your Kicks", "My Devils Song", "War on Gravity" and the secret bonus tune at the end of the last track. You want sexy, steamy heat? "In the Dark". You want an infectious bass line? "Spy vs Spy." A love song with lyrics so good, so original, that every girl will secretly wish this was dedicated to her? "Partners in Crime." You want a ballad that touches something inside and has actually given me chills? "Earthman".
Frontman Hal Ozsan has an absolutely amazing voice - and he not only knows how to write great rock hooks, but he pens clever, memorable lyrics as well. Guitarist "Domo" is so incredibly good, he knows when to play tasty and exactly when to just let it rip. Background vocalist Randy Austin could be the lead singer in any other band, and he's an extremely accomplished keyboardist. The driving, infectious rhythm is tightly held between bassist Sally Hope (a former lead guitarist who's just wicked on the bass) and drummer Dave Plesh. In other words, every person in this band is a rockstar in their own right: musically accomplished, strong in stage performance and well, really hot to look at. Trust me.
If you long for a rock album that you want to play over and over and absolutely fall in love with, this is it. This is the band. This is the proof that great three-chord, down-and-dirty swagger rock is alive and kicking. And Oh, does it sound and feel good! Pure magic."

"This album brings back a kind of rock and roll that people forgot in a sea of techo pop bs rock. THIS is for real, down and dirty guitar and vocals that will remind you of the stuff we used to dance our butts off to! This is just a FUN album with a lot more to offer than I've found in most music out there. AMAZING music and vocals. It just ROCKS."
