CD ReviewsThis isn't the wizard stoomfan666 | hell | 09/07/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "damn you f*ckin people are idiots! if you'd read the damn intro on the site, you'd read that "the band" is from aus. and if you are a real fan of the wizard you'd know that they're from britian you f*cks! the name of this band is POD PEOPLE, and yes this album kicks, but its nothing to electric wizard, so get it f*ckin straight!" Rebirth of the Wizard! Crypt | Arkham | 07/15/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'll admit that I was a little cynical when I heard that Jus reformed Electric Wizard with new members. "Please God, don't let them wuss out or do something un-Wizardly" was what I was thinking. Well, I went out and bought the album and I was instantly floored. The fact is that with these new members Electric Wizard has not only once again out-heavied themselves, but taken the Wizard sound to the next level. It still sounds like Sabbath on qualudes, there's pleanty of feedback and fuzz to keep the acid-heads pleased, the lyrics still pay homage to Lovecraft and Howard and the music is slower, groovier and doomier than ever. The songwriting and overall musicianship has never been stronger. The Dinosaur riffs never sounded fresher and more evil. Too many bands simply recycle riffs already played by Sabbath, Pentagram and Candlemass. I did notice that Jus' voice has improved this time around. Maybe he recorded the vocals while sober? Who knows. What it comes down to is that this is the absolute HEAVIEST, most CRUSHING True Metal album of the year. Without a doubt the best Doom album in the past few years. Definitely Electric Wizard's best so far. The future looks bright for them. (un-Doomy I know) I don't know why it's out of stock at Amazon since it's a new release."
