Dark and moody

"Pluramon include, I gather, members of Mouse on Mars and Can (Jaki Liebzeit), but that won't tell you much. Their music, if I had to stretch for a comparison, reminds me more of Godspeed You Black Emperor! than either of those bands. It's dark, moody, guitar-oriented, and subtly textured. While on first blush, the "songs" -- often ten minute long exercises -- sound a little simplistic, that's just a result of seeking complexity in the STRUCTURE, rather than the tonal layerings and distortions that flow from it... It's not half-bad music to dream to, nicely dark and rich. Nor is this a masterpiece, mind you; it's reasonably interesting stuff, so if you're curious I say "go ahead," but it's nothing MANDATORY. It's a LOT better than RENDER BANDITS, their next release, tho..."
