Synopsis

Album Description
Just graduating high school, 18-year old Fort Worth, Texan Daniel Hunter - who is PlayRadioPlay! - has already taken giant strides toward a long career. PRP played over 100 shows in 2007, including the Vans Warped Tour where he was bumped to the main stage by Kevin Lyman due to popularity, and Fall 2007 national main support tours with Portugal the Man and Spill Canvas. It's all in support of The Frequency EP (released 4/07), a six-song self-produced EP (with a 7th bonus video track) that explores Dan's pure pop instincts. PRP has an extraordinary Myspace profile with over 100k friends, 4 million profile views & 10 million plays. In addition to several tracks not found on the EP, the Myspace page includes "Confines of Gravity," licensed by American Eagle as part of the promo campaign tied to MTV's The Real World; won FUSE's "Ovenfresh" program & went into rotation on Stevens Untitled Rock Show. PRP did Clearchannel New 11/07, and the full-length album titled, "TEXAS," will arrive March 18th.

CD Reviews

Great CD!
John Evans | 03/20/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD is terrific! I can't believe a 17 year old kid wrote this music and these lyrics...very mature music and great production. Madi Don't Leave is definitely the "hit" song, but many of the others are not far behind. The unique quality of these songs is that they each make you smile and think back to your youth. The final song, "Texas", is especially pure and simple and reminds you of the sweet contentment of being home."
Exceeeded expectations

"I've been a fan of PlayRadioPlay! for a couple of years now, and I've been waiting for the moment he would release a full-length album after the [Frequency] EP and countless demos. I think Dan Hunter is incredibly talented, but I wasnt't expecting much more than what I'd heard in the past. From the first song, "Loco Commotion", to the last, "Texas," I was very surprised at the depth and diversity of this album. Texas is full of good hooks and strong vocals that keep me interested and excited for the rest. "Madi Don't Leave," the first single, is very upbeat and a promising song that may well expand Hunter's fan base. I'd recommend this album for anyone who has good taste in music..... haha. Or just for fans of electronica similar to The Postal Service, Metro Station, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Secret Handshake, etc."
Great debut album hints at a bright future!

"This is a really solid album. It's mature, intelligent and simply fun! I think the comparisons to The Postal Service are a stretch. It actually in many ways reminds me a lot of Ben Kweller.

I think if Dan and Ben, who are both from Texas, were to collaborate on an album, it would be pretty freaking awesome.

Give Dan a few years to mature- his next album is going to be amazing."
