"I've seen these guys in action and they have a lively stage presence in keeping with their unique music. The CD has songs that contain elements of rock and punk without hard core gutter punk sounds. Numbers like, 'Adreneline' make you want to rock out. 'Missionary' is another that gets your body moving in time to the beat. Listening to the CD is as great enjoyment as if you were standing outside a club and hearing them live from the stage. The recording studio did an outstanding job. Aside from the music, one can listen to the lyrics and realize that there is a certain artistry behind the compositions.Tracks like, 'Righteous Vigilante' has rhythm, beat, and a solid uniformity of backup vocalizations that comes only from many hours of practice. Each song in the album is, without exception, excellent and it is hard to come up with a favorite- but if pressed it might have to be: 'Cruxifiction Politics,' or perhaps, 'Missionary.' Pistol Grip's release of 'Shots from the Kalico Rose' is definitely having an impact on this genre and what's on the inside of Kalico Rose is superb."

"This is a great CD by one of the best new bands out there. Pistol Grip play a catchy uptempo style of punk that has definite Oi influences. The energy of their live shows is present here and every song shines with no filler. The vocalist is real good providing melody with an edge and the songs move forward without undue repetition and good lyrics. The production is real clean without being too polished, but every instrument has a nice presence."
