"This compilation presents samples from the whole range of quality piranha artists. Piranha is i.m.o. one of the most daring and tasteful world music labels. The selection clearly adresses the world music fan and it ranges from common known "standards" to suprisingly unheralded jewels. Within this little universe the quality seems of course not always on top level and especially the slight focus on easy african party music bugs me a little. Another problem is the missing thread throughout the compilation - as this is a problem with most compilations: it sometimes feels like drinking too many different beverages on evening...Apart from that this record is (at leat for me) in most parts highly enjoyable. My personal favorites are "Bom E Bonito", "Tarantella Del Gargano" (weird!), "Ach Hellada" and, of course, the two Klezmatics tracks... and and and..."
