Great Album. Evolved Sound.

"I stumbled across The Pinker Tones completely by accident, through Pandora Radio. I now own Wild Animals and Million Colour Revolution thanks to Pandora and Amazon. I love these albums for a few specific reasons: the songs are fun, the lyrics are quirky, and the compositions are very skilled and enjoyable. I love the electronic sound with funky influences. They blend the use of real instruments and electronic music seamlessly. This holds true for Modular as well. The reason why I wouldn't give it a full five-star rating is because nothing grabbed me quite like on the other two albums of theirs. That being said, their sound has definitely evolved, and you can hear how they've matured as musicians. Definitely buy this, if you liked their other music. (It's important for musicians to evolve their sound; for me, it's just that The Pinker Tones evolved on a slightly different path than my expectations/hopes).
One important thing to note is that there seems to be fewer English tracks on this album. I think one of the reasons why this CD didn't "grab me" as much is because the opening track is full Spanish. I certainly don't hold that against Modular, but it did affect my personal listening experience. This might be less of a problem for some, whether you speak Spanish or not. Yes, I know the group is based out of Barcelona. :)"
Another pop masterpiece from the Pinker Tones

"I first came to the Pinker Tones when I saw they were going to be on the Warped Tour in 2009. I totally fell in love with the Wild Animals album and I would consider the Sonido Total extended remix version that the band plays live is one of the best tracks ever. So I had been waiting with great anticipation for this album for a while. Admittedly, the first couple of listens to Modular had me feeling a bit letdown from my high expectations. However, I really dig the whole record and I have found rather quickly that more and more of the tracks get stuck in my head, especially Tokyo and Estirado al Sol. Also, the extended versions of Con mi Camera and Pinkerland Vibes are awesome.
I think the album is a real grower and will prove to be another favorite of mine.
If you enjoy having a good time and want some excellent pop music to go with your good time, check out all of the Pinker Tones' stuff."
