Essential Japanese Pop

"From 1976-1980 this Japanese duo had a stranglehold on the Japanese pop charts with 10 #1 records (all on this disc) plus one American "Top 40" hit. Mie and Kei were attractive, could dance like crazy AND had great vocal harmonies not to mention songs with enough pop hooks to make Britney Spears jealous. If you are already into "J-pop" you need this disc to see WHERE the music you now worship came from.

Sadly the good times did not last. A less than great US album (available here in Amazon) and a horrid US TV show (available here on Amazon) sealed their fate and by the early 80's they broke up."
