"I just couldn't let this little gem of an EP languish with no reviews and seemingly no sales! So, if you are into the whole batch of "post-garage" rockers (or whatever you want to call it!): the Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs or the Kills, then you ought to get this CD! They're a little more NYDolls-meets-Chrome Cranks (so you can't really snooze through the CD like you would the new Strokes platter), but, they have a sound all of their own thanks to integral saxophone blasts & male/female vocal interplay. The Nasty Show starts things off with a nice 'n naughty alliterative refrain which will stick in your head for days. More Than A Woman keeps the pace up - ballsy and brash with saxophone flourishes keeping things novel. The pace is harnessed a little for The Beast before the wild rock 'n roll pastishe of Susie kicks in "side B" - sounds like it's from Grease as done by Travolta & Newton-John on some really good drugs! Shake also features lots of vocal interplay with the Greasettes - their backing vocal trio (that's nine people in the band all told!). The album is wrapped up with the awesome Lou Reed (the song, not the old fart) which rumbles along in all its scuzzy two-and-a- half minute glory until it changes gears while singer Rory Lewarne introduces the band... "Hi, Hello there, good to be with you, thank you for listening"! 21 minutes, no filler, all killer!"
