"A most important yet rather neglected composer who's works have been finally brought to light in this wonderful recording. The pieces performed here in a most sensitive manner by Mr. van Dijk, are varied, highly interesting and somewhat prophetic of things to come with Buxtehude and later still with J.S. Bach. The organ used here is perfect having been originally built in 1645/46 by Hagerbeer. I look forward to enjoying the vol.2 of this collection of Herr Scheidemann's masterpieces."

"I've listened to this CD a 1000 times and I'm still finding new things in it. The organ is a Schnitger (need I say more), the artistry is very good (although the works are not exceptionally demanding), and the music has a fasination that many never be satisfied (like an itch that doesn't go away even though you scratch it). It's the best [money] I've ever spent for music.John Mattick"
