"Pierre Lapointe's debut recording is emotionally stirring, intellectually sophisticated, and superbly entertaining. His songs depict an unusually deep maturity of life issues for an artist of his young age. His texts run the gamut from playful, to ironic, to cynical, to insightful. And his music is sheer delight, at times harkening nostalgia of the heyday of Parisian Music Hall in the likes of Charles Trenet and Yves Montant, and at other times reminiscent of more contemporary song writers like Harry Nilsson and Randy Newman. And a terrific singing voice as well displaying a beautiful clear tone, a wide range, and many vocal colors expressing the varying moods of his texts. We're looking forward to more from Pierre Lapointe."
