Phenomenal Pianist!!

"I'd never heard of this Ukraine-born pianist, Sergei Edelmann, before, but his account of Prokofiev's 8th sonata was a revelation. I thought nobody could play this sonata better than Sviatoslav Richter (another great pianist born in Ukraine), but Edelmann presents it in much larger scale with his phenomenal technical prowess and mesmerizing subtlety in the slow movements. His style is self-effacing and thoughtful, and that adds to the depth of his interpretation. Romeo & Juliet Suites are equally outstanding.
I wonder why such an amazing pianist can be forgotten in obscurity, while superficial, ostentatious pianists like Argerich, Sokolov, Kissin, Lang Lang (the worst of all) etc gain enormous fame - indeed as Gilbert O'sullivan once sang, "In the world so distorted, where the worst is best reported..." Something must be wrong with the classical music world!"
