Among the countless musical findings of the last decade, this extraordinary item, has been highly appreciated and enjoyed for innumerable listeners around the world.
The presence of that force of nature named Pau Casals, nourished , enhanced and expanded still more the rest of ever player who had the huge privilege to play and assist to that Festival. Every year, since 1950, the musical universe was focused on that little community where the music was by itself the supreme protagonist.
And the obtained results could not be more satisfactory. This version of Schubert's second Trio still stands out as one of the most eminent musical register ever made, only matched to my view, for the overwhelming performance of 1967 with Istomin, Rose and Schneider (curiously all of them were in Prades as frequent musical guests).
Beethoven's Trio op. 1 is filled of winged refinement and majestic approach. So if you realize the pyramidal importance of this historical recording, this album must be part of your invaluable collection, because among other arguments Casals is one of the most complete and relevant performers, interpreters and thinker-artists of the XX century.
