"Phranc's Goofyfoot EP is definitely her most addictive album yet. Every song has a rocking beat, even if it's only played with acoustic instruments; the ones played with backup players on eletric guitar, bass, etc., have a really cool, 60's-rock kind of sound. Kaia Wilson and Donna Dresch (both of Team Dresch fame) pitch in on the rockin', very south-Californian "Surferdyke Pal"!Unlike Phranc's earlier, (somewhat) more serious albums, this is basically a fun, feel-good folky-pop album. But "Bulldagger Swagger" is a really awesome anthem of butch pride that you can't resist singing along to. "I'm not trying to be a man / I'm just being who I am / And that's a very very butch lesbian" The song "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter" is a funny and sweet cover of the classic, with the twist of being sung by a woman.Hey, it's worth getting just for the gnarly album art -- no special fx, the photo of Phranc surfing and playing the guitar at the same time is the real deal!! I only wish this were a full-length CD instead of an EP! This stuff is so much fun, there should be more of it."
