"Philpot's "Hate Writes Better Than Love" delivers a big sound - hard-driving rock, with distinctive, ear-catching melodies, and intelligible lyrics - a combination that's rare to find. Producer Bill Klatt has done a masterful job of bringing lead singer Kentz Ward's vocals to the forefront. The sound itself doesn't fit neatly into any one particular category or label - it's not exactly post-grunge or Brit-pop, though elements of those can be heard, and in some ways reminiscent of good-old '60's rock. Nary a weak track on this disc; it's not one of those CD's you'd buy just for two or three good tracks.
If you ever have an opportunity to see these guys perform live, Do It - they're even better live. They're touring throughout the Midwest, and have played venues in New York and on the eastern seaboard.
This album is truly a five-star production!"
