Product Description
Philly Soul's roots date back to the late 60's, but it reached its pinnacle in the 1970's, when producers/songwriters Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff and Thom Bell masterminded what came to be known as the Sound of Philadelphia, a distinctive brand of R&B that emphasized lush strings, blistering horn work and solid grooves, notching indelible hits for the likes of the O'Jays, the Spinners and Teddy Pendergrass.
