"This is a fantastic album! I am Scottish and my husband is Irish, and this album is a winner for both of us. We own many of Phil Coulter's albums, and we were not disappointed with this one. The selection of Scottish tunes on Disc 1 is great. If you are a Glaswegian, you will enjoy "I Belong to Glasgow." A great tune, and not often played on albums. If you are Scottish, your heart will be touched by his rendition of very Scottish tunes. If you are Irish, Disc 2 will have your missing the auld sod. Though this is a "tranquil" album, you will not miss the flavor of "Whiskey in the Jar." This is a wonderful album, very relaxing, very enjoyable. Phil Coulter knows what it is to be a Celt, and he translates this with his wonderful music. The overall character of this album is delightful, relaxing and pleasant. The title is definitely true; it is "total tranquility." He plays all of the tunes you want to hear, and he makes you wish you were there. He is truly a master!"

"I have just received my copy of Total Tranquility and have been playing all afternoon. I have only one complaint -- the song list order on the packaging is in the wrong order and, not being familiar with most of the songs, I am unable to correctly mark them.
As far as the content is concerned, 'Total Tranquility' is the word. Phil Coulter is a master at lulling the listener almost into a peaceful trance, only to lift one up to majestic musical heights, and then return the listener to a soft calm place of Total Tranquility. I am thoroughly enjoying these 2 CDs."
