Synopsis
Album Description Exploring the Unknown with an adventurous technological sensibility, striking sparks and fanning flames, fusing cold hard tech and human warmth... "Within A Second." Phenotract uses a myriad of anthemic hooks, funky, oddly house-like beats, atmospheric moods, breathy, otherworldly vocals and imaginative electro sounds and structures to create a debut album remarkable for it's individuality without sacrificing accessibility. "Within A Second" is the debut album of Phenotract: a means of experimenting with electronic sounds, textures and rhythms geared for the progressive dancefloor and mind. Drawing inspiration from classic electro and ebm, house and hard trance, Phenotract strives quite successfully to meld these potentially disparate styles into a seamless whole. Similar CDs |
CD ReviewsNew stuff - fresh sound Peter J. King | Wappingers Falls, NY United States | 02/25/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought this cd directly from Eric Shans, the mastermind behind PHENOTRACT and was incredibly surprised.
Why? Because this is a one man band. Mr. Shans does it all! But the interesting part is that every song has a hook, something different that keeps you interested from track 1 to track 14. This cd will be played on dance floors everywhere....and after so many spins....will still sound as exciting as it's first play. Tinman Records is know for signing fresh, innovative performers...and with Phenotract...they've hit the nail on the head and kept the music alive!" |
