G-R-E-A-T PRAISE SONGS!

"These songs get caught in your heart and stay there--and you'll also find them on your lips! I have listened to this CD on my headphones at work almost every day for about 3 months, and it has pulled me through some tough times. I work at a place where the management is anything but Godly... This CD has helped me stay in the Spirit of Praise and Gratitude. My attitude has improved at a level noticable to those who work around me. HE is "Great and Marvelous", indeed! Thank you, Petra, for your very best Praise-work yet! The lyrics are awe inspiring, the harmonies and octaves of your vocal work can melt the hardest heart, and the instrumentation, music craftmanship and studio mixing are excellent!"

"Though I consider Petra's first praise album their best, I can not rate this album less than 5 because of the tremendous spiritual uplifting that the chosen songs give the listener. God again placed His grace on this praise album and annointed more beautiful rock/praise for a younger generation."

"I'm not the world's best Christian. I really don't even attend church normally, but I feel so at peace with this cd. I'm a rocker myself. I love rock, hard rock, classic rock, etc. I never thought I'd pick up a Christian cd. My parents got this and I heard them listening to it one day, and it just did something to me. The harmonies are great. There's a great blend of slow songs and upbeat songs. This cd is on my top 5 list, which is saying a lot b/c I'm a music guru. It's my life. Get this cd, and you will just feel so much better; so at peace. I urge everyone to own this cd."
Amazing Petra !

"This is truly an energy packed album with lot of good chrisitan rock music. I will not term them as remixes cause even the traditional worship songs 'Lord I lift your name on high', 'I love you Lord' etc sounds amazing with Petra. The songs have also been rightly placed...especially the medley and the ending song ' We need Jesus'. A wonderful album !"
We All Need Jesus ... and this CD helps

"With the influx of rock-n-roll outfits releasing praise and worship CD's recently (Third Day, Sonic Flood, etc.), it is easy to lose site of who pioneered rock-n-roll praise and worship. For those of us old enough to look a couple of decades back, Petra released "Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out" in 1989. It fused together the contemporary praise songs and choruses of the time with Petra's rock edge. The result was a terrific collection of cover tunes plus two new originals, and it quickly became one of the most popular rock-n-roll praise and worship efforts ever. John Schlitt proved to be an adept worship leader. The rest of the band did not overshadow the worshipful attitude with fancy instrumentation. Much like how The 2nd Chapter of Acts reintroduced "Hymns" to us in 1986, Petra redefined praise and worship in 1989."Petra Praise 2: We Need Jesus" follows up "Petra Praise..." and does so with unabashed faithfulness and quality. It is fun to hear Petra's rock spin on familiar choruses, but the shining gems of the CD are the new original tunes introduced by the band. A new song, "Song of Moses", begins the CD with a neat intro and a hooky melody. The band then jazzes up "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High" with an edgy sound. "Be of Good Cheer" has to be the funnest new Petra song in a long time (neat sound!). "Show Your Power", "I Love You, Lord", and "Let Our Voices Rise Like Incense" are prayerfully sung and played through with reverance. "The Holiest Name" is yet another nifty new song that breathes more life into this CD. "The Ancient of Days" sounds good with the pop/rock spin that has been assigned to it, but "Ancient of Days" virtually shreds with energy. Another new tune, "Lovely Lord", is beautiful indeed. The medley ("Only by Grace", "To Him Who Sits on the Throne", and "You are Holy") flows well from one chorus to the next. The climatic "We Need Jesus" is worth the wait as you hear John Schlitt, John Elephante, and Lou Gramm (remember Foreigner?) trade leads and then blend in together later with a large choir. It is worth setting the alarm clock up a little so that you can hear this CD in its entirety before church on Sunday mornings. If you are like me, you are never on time to Sunday School and usually arrive grumpy. After a shower, a good nutricious breakfast, three cups of coffee, and one dose of "Petra Praise 2", see if your demeanor improves. Enjoy!"
