CD ReviewsStyle and class 08/21/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Peter Skellern is a unique singer/songwriter: he writes songs with a 30's sound and a latter-day sensibility. Like Fred Astaire and even Noel Coward before him, Skellern makes the most of a minimal voice (in fact, several of these cuts are from his "Skellern sings Astaire" album, underscoring the resonance between their styles). Original love songs, wonderfully accompanied by his own piano artistry and the (at least earlier) by the exceptional Grimethorp Colliery Brass Band, he reminds us that style and class are not obsolete."
