Peter Iver's "lost" album finally released

"Unreleased for 39 years, Peter Ivers' second record has Indian singer Asha Puthli as a replacement for Knight of the Blue Communion's Yolande Bavan, but is in much the same style. Think experimental jazz rock with unusual female vocals and arrangements. Not as uncommercial as Knight of the Blue Communion (it even had a somewhat successful single preceding it, a cover of Marvin Gaye's Ain't That Peculiar, which is on that album's reissue), so why Epic shelved it is unknown. But taken together with Knight of the Blue Communion, these two records are two of the more unusual and unique major label offerings of the late 1960s/early 1970s, possibly only matched by Captain Beefheart's output."
I waited 39 years for this CD to be released and it was wort

"Peter Iver's Knight of the Blue Communion has been one of my favorite LPs since it came out. See my review. I waited 39 years for Take It Out On Me to be released and it was worth the wait! Grab it while you can! The only thing I can really compare it to is Beefheart's Safe As Milk. What a pity we had to wait 39 years to hear this music and how wonderful that we at VERY long last can hear it!"
